The Results Viewing Window
Errors can be viewed in the Results Viewing Window in two different ways.
The Time View displays the errors sorted in chronological order.
The Time View is very useful for determing which error occurred first (and may have caused the other errors) and also for identifying errors clustered in time.

The Compare Options Window

In general the most important or most used Menu Bar selections are also on the Button Bar for easy access.
The Menu bar contains a FILE option which includes the CLOSE, PREFERENCES, and the EXIT selections.
The File-->Open selection will open a DAI Comparescan Database file. This database file will be loaded into the error viewer as if the actual comparison had been performed.
The File-->Save selection will save a DAI Comparescan Database file. The file will contain all the data currently contained in the error viewer.
The File-->SaveAs selection is the same as File-->Save but you can specify a file name.
The File-->Close selection will close the window. If it is the only DAI Comparescan window open it will also exit the program.
The File-->Preferences selection will create the preferences dialog box. Any setting changes made in the preferences dialog box will be automatically saved and restored the next time DAI Comparescan is run. The following preferences can be set in the PREFERENCES dialog:
The View menu option provides the VIEW BY HIERARCHY, VIEW BY TIME, NEXT ERROR, and PREVIOUS ERROR selections. The two view selections provide change the view in the Results Display Area. The Results Display Area supports two views. The first view is a hierarchy browser which will allow you to examine the errors in a format corresponding to the design hierarchy. The second view provides the errors sorted by time. The time view is often used to find the first error in time (which may have caused the other errors).

The Button Bar provides simple shortcuts to functions accessible through the Menu Bar.
Pressing the Run Button will start the comparison.
Pressing the Stop Button while a comparison is running will abort the comparison. That comparison cannot be resumed. It can be restarted from scratch by pressing the Run Button.
Pressing the Pause Button while a comparison is running will pause the comparison. By pressing the Continue Button after the Pause Button, the comparison can be resumed where it was paused. This is different than restarting the comparison from scratch.
Pressing the Options Button will bring up the Compare Options menu.
Pressing the Sort By Module Button (H View) will sort the error listing by module name.
Pressing the Sort By Time Button (Time View) will sort the error listing by time.
Once an error is displayed, pressing the Next Button will display the next error, pressing the Previous Button will display the previous error.
The Run-time Animation is active when DAI Comparescan is comparing. It is a good indicator of how hard the program is working. Once the comparison is complete a summary message is displayed, and the animation stops.
